June 2023 Update

"They all depend on you to give them food as they need it. When you supply it, they gather it. You open your hand to feed them, and they are richly satisfied." - Psalms 104:27-28 (NLT)

Dear Friends,

We’ve been writing our newsletter since January this year, and it’s been a fascinating journey to experience how much God has been faithful by increasing our exposure to different churches and denominations, and all to spread the word that Japan needs the gospel!

Thank you all for being with us in this. The road hasn’t been easy, but we are always encouraged by the conversations and messages from everyone along the way!

This is a shorter newsletter just to update you on a few things…

Last week, Nitasha finished her last wedding and closed down Imperial Hair, her Bridal Hair business. We are a little sad because Imperial Hair was a thriving business which had so many missional touch-points and opportunities, that impacted so many. Alongside that, Jordan completed his last youth session with Encounter Selly Oak & Weoley Castle this week. This month we also said ‘goodbye’ to a dear family member, yet on another occasion we’ve also said ‘hello’ to a new nephew! All of which has made June a very emotional month for us and our family.

Jordan has recently restarted his regular online Japanese language study on Mondays, with the help of a new friend from ECCJ. This is a great opportunity to have conversations in Japanese again. Concerning church, Jordan was given a chance to encourage the dads with a Father’s Day message, and we were both refreshed when we attended a brilliant Prayer & Worship Night at Kingstanding Elim, where we were prayed for and encouraged.

Prayer Points

  • Friday 30th June 2023 was set to be our leaving date… But the Certificate of Eligibility hasn’t come and we haven't booked flights as yet. After seeking some good counsel about what to do whilst waiting for our visas to arrive, we won’t book flights until they do. However, we are looking for temporary stay in Tokyo (2-3 months) in order to find our long-term accommodation. So, please be praying that God brings along the right people, among our contacts, as well as others in Tokyo, for help settling in (finding an apartment etc.).
  • Please also pray for our families. The fact we are leaving is becoming very real for all of us. Pray we all begin a healthy and godly adjustment to the process of us moving overseas.
  • Lastly, as we draw closer to our fundraising goal, we want to believe God for what feels like the impossible: reaching 100% of our fundraising target before we leave! We are asking for provision, and with it patience. Please join us in praying for unwavering patience - in prayer, affliction, overcoming fear or discouragement - as we wait for the documents and the funds along with it.

Thank you again for walking this journey with us! We believe that God will open His hands to us even more, in His timing.

Love and Mega Blessings from,

Rev. Jordan & Nitasha Christian
